BlueEyes-BlackFur's Profile Picture
Just a fox with girl ears

Ahhh so many cats so little time ;_; I have neither the time nor energy to keep up with a large scale cattery or competitive breeding, so I'm cutting it back to handful of cats I know I like to/will actually draw. A few are definitely for sale, and a lot of them are free for offers. Listed here are all the ones I know I would like to get rid of, but if there's a particular cat you're interested in that's not on this list, feel free to offer. There are a few that I definitely won't part with so keep that in mind when you do~

Prices listed are only asking price, feel free to negotiate!

LHS welcomes you to its first ever show: a foxhunt!

The goal is simple: catch the fox! Here's how it works. The cats will line up at the start line. Each rider and cat will be allowed to inspect the fox for thirty seconds. Be sure that you get a good look at it, and that your cat gets a hold of its scent! Then the fox is released; it's given a five minute head start, and then the race begins! The fox is as swift as it is agile, and easily lost. The territory is wide, the forests dense, the trails unmarked. There are any number of strange things lurking in LHS's mountains: from Disturbed Nightmares and dragons to phantoms and gravity anomalies. Who knows what you'll find when the fog rolls in. Keep on your toes and good luck!

Deadline: August 1st

Main Event Rules:

  • All classes will be judged by myself and the wonderful FelTheLioness
  • All cats are welcome! However certain classes are limited to certain breeds, so be sure to check where your cat belongs.
  • Every cat must have its SPC/PB/ASPC/KPC/DPC/fake papers. It can't be pending either, as we need the stats for judging purposes.
  • Entries must be fullbody, colored and shaded with background. Both drawn backgrounds and photomanipulations count.
  • You may enter as many cats as you like, but each cat can only enter a class once.
  • References are fine, tracing is not. Be sure to link any references used.
  • Cats must be at least 2 years of age.
  • Cats must have appropriate tack similar to cross country or steeplechase tack.
  • Pawpads and leg protection are encouraged.
  • Headstalls are recommended, but cordeo riding is allowed. Steer stick riding is not allowed.
  • Riders must wear helmets and protective vests similar to cross country.
  • At least 50% of the rider/handler must be shown.
  • Handlers must be at least 18 years of age.
  • In each class, there can only be one cat per handler.
  • Each cat must have its own entry.
  • No animals other than your cat are allowed. You must rely on your cat's and your own tracking methods.
  • No weapons may be used. Your cat must do the hunting.
  • This is not a free for all. You cannot attack another cat or rider. You cannot sabotage another cat or rider's efforts intentionally.
  • The patrol team will be monitoring the area for cheating.

Class 1: Classic cats

All the competitors arrived the day before, and in the morning they gather at the start line while it's still dark outside. The weather is expected to be cool but clear, with a few puffy clouds. The hunt starts at dawn, and lasts until around noon. At around 9 the fog rolls in and obscures everything further than 6 feet away from you. The lighthouse will be turned on, so keep an eye on that beacon to keep yourself from getting turned around. If you do get lost, be sure not to follow any non-light house lights you might find (particularly blue ones, though the red ones are usually not too bad) and head towards the edge of the territory where a patrol cat will be happy to set you straight.
  • OERS cats or cats with fake papers only

Class 2: Komainu and K-Crosses

With the classic cats' hunt done, it's time for the big boys. Literally. The hunt begins in the early afternoon, around 1pm, and lasts until around 9pm. The temperature drops after sunset, but it remains clear until around 8:30pm, when clouds begin to gather. The fog clears by 6, and it starts drizzling at around 9:30, but by this time the hunt itself is over and it's just wrapping up loose ends. Headlamps are recommended for after dark. Even if you don't think you need a light, you want one, if nothing else to chase off what might be lurking in the shadows. The patrol cats will be carrying extra batteries, light bulbs and flashlights along with the usual supplies, should you need them.
  • Komainus and K-crosses of 25% or greater only. Bayun cats are welcome here as well.

Class 3: Djibb Cats

Bring your raincoats and saddle covers folks, it's wet out there. The hunt starts at dawn, like the classic cats' class, and lasts until around 12pm. It's been raining steadily since about midnight. The rain isn't hard, but everything is completely soaked, making the ground soft and slippery. The sky is a nice, dark, world-about-to-end kind of gray. Be extra careful crossing streams. The Disturbed Nightmare doesn't like rain, so watch out for her and her random forest fires. The patrol team will mark off any places too dangerous, so keep an eye out for flagged trees.
  • Djibb Cats only. Jotun Djibbs are welcome to enter as well

Class 4: Asians and Asian Crosses

The rain's only getting harder at this point. The hunt starts at 1pm but is a bit shorter, ending at 8pm. At around 6pm, the rain lightens up and the sun begins to peek through the clouds. At one point, the entire patrol team becomes distracted by a perfect triple rainbow over the lighthouse. Did someone see the fox leave the boundaries? Nah, just an illusion. Probably. As the sun sets, the temperature drops dramatically. Be sure to bring a jacket!
  • Asian Shedus and Asian crosses (25% or greater) only

Catching the fox:
Who catches the fox will be determined completely by RNG. However, you can still win without catching the fox. The fox captor will receive a special small reward, and there will be larger prizes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.

Judging Rubric:
  • 1-80 for effort. Will be based on your own gallery. You will be given a score out of 30 by each judge, which will be summed to give your total effort score.
  • 15 for catching the fox
  • Strength, stamina, agility, and surefoot stats. Temperament will be used in the case of a tie.
  • 1-15 for correct background, weather, time of day
  • 5 for appropriate tack
  • 5 for story 200+ words
  • 5 for including another cat. Can stack up to 3 times, so a max of 15 points. You can include other competitors, or any of the patrol cats.
  • 5 for an extra image
  • ? items

The prizes for each class are as follows:
1st place:
50 000 RDs
5 trainings  ( 30 AP for a cat)
Diamond collar
2nd place:
40 000 RDs
4 trainings (24 AP for cat)
Queen-care item
3rd place:
30 000 RDs
3 trainings (18 AP)
Minor fertility flask pot
Fox captor:
1 slot to any of LHS's available males

Every participant will also receive 3 000 RDs + silk brush item

After-Dark Special

With the Asians packed up and the stars twinkling in a clear sky above, the forests light up with neon paint. The moon is bright and the air is crisp. Winter still clings as the temperatures plunge. The already slippery mud is now coated with a thin layer of ice, creating patches of ground that are hard to even walk on. The patrol team exchanges their stable uniforms for street gear. Here is where only the greatest hunters run. It starts at 11 and lasts until dawn. Any and all may enter, from street breds to djibbs, however there is only one winner for this class: he who catches the fox.

  • Pre-registration for this class is required. Pre-registration deadline is July 26th.
  • This class is open to OERS cats, streetbred cats, komainus, k-crosses, djibb cats, bayuns, asians, asian crosses, or any other type of shedu in existence.
  • SPC/PB/ASPC/KPC/DPCs are still required.
  • In order to enter this class, you must pay a bet. The bet can be anything: RDs, breeding slots, genos, art, it doesn't even have to be relating to shedus, you can offer nordanner, tokota, narashinga, asotu etc. related items as well, whatever you'd like. Points, however, are not allowed, and if you bet RDs or a similar in-game currency, the minimum amount is 100. There is no minimum value on breeding slots, genos, art etc., but keep in mind, the more you bet, the greater the stakes!
  • You must pay one bet per cat entered
  • Bets can be refunded any time before the pre-registration deadline. After the deadline however, if you cancel, your bet will not be given back to you/you will still be expected to carry through with the bet. If you have an emergency or something, and can't complete your bet, just message me! We can work something out.
  • All bets go into the pot. Winner takes all.
  • If you have any questions about the betting system, feel free to ask!
  • Cats must wear a saddle. Either headstalls or cordeo riding are required, no steer stick riding.
  • Paw pads and leg protection are recommended.
  • Riders must wear helmets.
  • No weapons of any kind. Your cat must do the hunting.
  • You are encouraged to paint your cats with neon colors to get into the spirit of the show. All colors are welcome except for white, which is the identifying color of the patrol cats. Note however that only Safe Fluro paint from the item shop will earn you bonuses!
  • There are far fewer rules here. Due to the lack of lighting and the strange crowd that's likely gathered, the LHS staff is taking a few steps back. The patrol team will still be on the job and eager to help, but they won't be able to look for foul play as easily. Keep your eyes peeled!
  • The patrol team may be willing to point you in the direction of the fox if you offer them something in return. . . if they're feeling generous that is (some food for you story writers out there. Don't actually bribe me; it won't work.)

Whoever gets the highest score is the one who catches the fox, and thus wins!

Judging Rubric:

  • 1-80 for effort. Will be based on your own gallery. You will be given a score out of 40 by each judge, which will be summed to give your total effort score.
  • Strength, stamina, agility, speed and surefoot stats.
  • 5 for an extra image.

Patrol Cats

These cats will be patrolling the whole event territory. They aren't competitors in the hunt. They are on the look out for cheating, injured cats or riders, and carry medical supplies, food, water and just about anything else you might need. They are happy to help you in any way they can. In the normal classes, they can be recognized by their bright white, glow-in-the-dark collars. In the After-Dark Special, they will be painted with white, glow-in-the-dark paint.

Hey! :3
When should Baldassare 3801as's ASPC be complete? I would love to breed him in April <3
BlueEyes-BlackFur Featured By Owner Mar 5, 2015
Heyo! Baldassare 3801as has just been sold to EspressoOnTheRocks! All you slots will stay the same, along with the ASPC deal, but just wanted to let you know!

Alright, thanks! :3
BlueEyes-BlackFur Featured By Owner Feb 26, 2015
Mm I'm not sure, I haven't made any plans for him since he's currently for sale. I can't vouch for what his new owner's plans will be, but as long he's in my possession I can try to get them done if you'd like <3 I'm afraid I can't promise anything though, I've got a lot on my plate atm :XD:

Alright :3

Okay, if I do his ASPC, could I have another slot to him? I really have a good female for him <3
BlueEyes-BlackFur Featured By Owner Feb 26, 2015
Yeah that'd be great, I'll mark you down the slot later this evening!

Ahhh! Would you be interested in an art trade? :D!!!
Redherochild Featured By Owner Feb 8, 2015  Hobbyist Writer
I was about to suggest an art trade, since I love how you draw my characters...but then I remembered I suck at drawing animals. :(

(100% true story: I once tried to draw a cat. I ended up with a very nicely drawn pizza.)
BlueEyes-BlackFur Featured By Owner Feb 8, 2015
Pffffffft I'd still do an art trade with you tho. I have some non-cat characters that could use some love as well (and it's on my to-do list to get them refs up....all the more incentive for me to get on that now that my commishes are done)
also you should come to a stream some time
they're fun
Redherochild Featured By Owner Feb 17, 2015  Hobbyist Writer
Yay, I'd love to try an art trade.

I might come to a stream if I'm online when it happens, and if I know about it - I'm...kinda oblivious.
